Sooo Darin told me that the Bank near our house almost got robbed..... and to make it crazier, I went to school with one of the kids that was a part of it... oh my. I mean, it's freaking VERMONT!! Nothing ever freaking happens here.... this freaks me out, seriously.

just some little thoughts...

so I need to bring some things into work to make my office my own... I have a picture, but I'm really not sure what else to bring in. Right now my desk is covered with animals that were hand carved in Africa that Uncle Frank brought back with him... but they are my Dad's and I really don't feel comfortable leaving them there over the weekend. Plus I want to make the space my own. I really need a clock for my desk, I guess that is on my list for this weekend... as for a glass. I need a water glass to keep at work and I really want to get a super cool one. I'm really not feeling all that eloquent right now. bahhh! Oh well! I also need to peruse my photos that I have on my computer to find a good one for my background on my work computer. If anyone wants to send me photos to hang at work it would be much appreciated!!

thursday already!!

I really can't believe that it's thursday already! Well, today in a meeting at work it felt like it was Friday afternoon.... oh well! I also can't believe that I haven't posted since monday!! Oh my! I love love love my job and every day people tell me that I'm doing an amazing job and that really makes me happy! 

Oh so today the commute to work and back was ridiculous! It took me about 50 minutes to get there this morning.... it's only about 18 miles for those of you who don't know how far away my work is... yeah. It took me an hour to get home tonight because people forget how to drive in the snow.... it was snowing lightly and there wasn't any snow buildup on the road. then best is when you find out who is at the front of the line holding everyone back... and probably nine times out of ten it's someone driving a Subaru! Oh it pisses me off!!! It's like, FUUUUCKKKK!!! Your can is all wheel drive!!!Mine is two wheel drive and I'm doing fine.. so FREAKING speed up!!!

Ohhh I want to elope! Bahhh... buuuut we can't, people are coming and that wouldn't be right! Oh well, only 88 more days! I'm super duper excited!

I started my new job today and it went really well. I had a great day and I'm excited to go back tomorrow. Oh yes, lots of fun!

Okay, I'm watching tv right now and I'm feeling kinda brain-dead because I didn't get enough sleep last night. I'm really going to go to bed earlier tonight... I have to!

yuup, I had two or three glasses of champagne tonight and Darin had two glasses of it. We didn't even finish the bottle! But yeah I'm feeling it, hopefully I won't be feeling it in the morning!

So I totally forgot to blog yesterday! Ahhh! Today I finished up work with my Dad... I'm feeling a tiny bit sad about it but I know that I have a very good job now and I'm doing the right thing. I know I will miss my Dad a lot and miss the physical work buuuuuut I will be making good money and I will have a career! Also this job will be good for when I have babies! Oh life is changing and I'm excited!! 

Ohhhh so it's been so freaking cold recently. Like below zero....  by a lot. Last night it was down to -25... not cool. Yeah, right now weather.com says that it's -3 but it feels like -17! blah! The heater runs constantly because it's so cold outside. Annnnd the pipes froze last night... the ones that are in my bathroom! Brrrrr!! The floor is so cold in there that the water froze since the pipes sit on the floor. No one thought that they would freeze since they are in the house! So this morning my Dad and I thawed them out, yay fun! I have water again!! Wahoo!!

I drove Darin to work tonight because his car won't start; the battery is old and the cold killed it! So I'm picking him up from work when he gets out and then we are off to visit my bestest girl friend! We are going to Denny's to have some pancakes (yum!) and then we'll see what we do after that.

Okay, off to the shower!

okay... so we got cable yesterday and it has already consumed my life... blahhh. I turned it on when I got home at 5 and I haven't really left the couch, oh boy. First TLC, then Discovery Channel, and now Animal Planet. Yuuup. More tv for me, then bed!

Darin's Birthday

so today Darin turned 23! I baked him cupcakes yesterday and so today I made the frosting! He had vanilla cupcakes with mini M&M's baked into them. Then there was chocolate frosting on them with one large M&M on top of them... oh so yummy! I made dinner too; sweet and sour chicken, jasmine rice, and green beans. My Dad came over for dinner and he brought a silly card for Darin and some movie tickets! My Mom was really sad she couldn't make it but it was girls night out in the office. She really was hoping that she could skip it... we missed her very much but I sent my Dad home with some cupcakes so she wouldn't miss out!

new job

Soooo I had an interview today with my financial planner and another financial planner that he works with... they are looking for a secretary type person. So I made up my resume last night and I hemmed my dress pants as they were too long and tried to pull together some nice clothes and some shoes to wear. I was so nervous this morning; I didn't even eat any breakfast. I made it in there a little early and then the interview started. I'm always scared when interviewing for jobs where I really don't think I'm totally qualified, like this morning. I was afraid that my lack of a college education would hurt me... sure I went to brooks.... but I didn't graduate... and I went to Champlain... I was only there for one semester. So yeah, it doesn't looks so good. Oh well, I got a job that pays well and I'm not out a crap load of money for a degree. Yay! So now I have to go back tomorrow morning and work out the details... and get fingerprinted..... yuuuup. Since I will be working with other people's money I have to get fingerprinted, oh well. It's not like I care anyway, I haven't done anything bad so it's all gravy. 

Well, the response cards are coming in. Most people are coming and a few can't so far. It's really nothing that I didn't expect. I wanted some people, that I knew probably can't make it to the wedding, know that I was thinking of them and if for some reason they could make it that would be amazing. We will post photos of the wedding when it's all said and done so everyone can see them. 

Tomorrow is Darin's birthday! I baked cupcakes for him today (vanilla with m&m's in them). Tomorrow I will frost them with chocolate frosting. I'm still not sure what he wants for dinner so it seems like that might be a little last minute, oh well! My parents might be coming over for dinner too, that should be fun! Hopefully they will be able to make it.

road trip

so today we went on a spur of the moment road trip to New Hampshire! Wahoo! Darin and I hadn't been since the spring so it was fun. We went to a mall that has a Coach store.... yes I know, I'm obsessed. It was lots of fun. I saw a few things there that I really like but I'm hoping that they come out with some new stuff by the time I have some money. I'm not that sold on most of their purses right now and that makes me sad. Oh! Another thing that makes me sad, I can't seem to be able to load the Tiffany's web site, there is a thing that comes up every time that says something about there were to many redirects... it's annoying! I just want to look at pretty jewelry! It probably knows that I don't have any money and it won't let me on the site ... hmmm. Ah well, I will just keep trying.... although it's been giving me the same message for months now.

My Dad should be getting off the plane in Burlington around now! YAY! I missed him and I'm sure he had a ton of fun. I can't wait to hear about everything and see what he has made in the past week. 

OHHHH! Kinda big news! I have a job interview on Monday with a Financial planning firm... I'm hoping to be the new secretary! If all goes well I will get to wear pretty clothes to work every day and I will have money again! Yippieee!!! All I need to do is get a resume together and figure out what I'm going to wear.

Well, it's friday! I went into Burlington today and spent some quality time with my bestest girl friend! We had lots of fun window shopping as we are both broke and unemployed.... ah well, I didn't really see anything I would have bought anyway even if I did have money. We decided that we will need to get pedicures soon when we both have money and jobs.. hopefully soon!! My friend has never had one and I have only ever have had one before so it should be lots of fun. 

soooo I'm kinda tired tonight and I'm off to bed after just a little blogging... maybe more tomorrow?

so I went over to my parents house today to plow the driveway for my mom so she could get home tonight but my uncle had beat me to it! he came over and plowed the driveway for me!! So I decided that I would take a photo of my car and then shovel the walkway for my mom. I came home and spent some time on photoshop working on this... not sure if I'm really done with it yet but I'm off to see my Mom so I'm done with it for now. maybe I'll pick it up again tonight or tomorrow, we'll see. free time

Since my Dad is gone this week I have had a lot of free time on my hands. I worked three hours on Monday and then I was done for the week.. no if only it worked like this every week ;) Yeah, and if i could only pay my bills on three hours work a week, bahhh. 

So yesterday I helped my friend move into her new place and I took her shopping at Costco since she doesn't have her own membership. Then we all came back to my place and I cooked her and her boyfriend dinner, and cookies too! I do have popsicles in the freezer but I didn't feel like sharing so I made cookies to share. he he he! 

Today Darin didn't have to work at the store so he got to put a new radiator in his car... super fun. Yeah, I helped.... uh huh, I offered. I really did. He didn't need my help so I lounged in bed and then I moved to the couch... it was really stressful! ha ha ha! Tonight I'm going to keep my mommy company and help her make dinner. I'm bringing my latest sewing projects and a jacket I need to iron... mine is broken >_<>

Ohhhh Darin and I really really really need to take the Christmas tree down. I don't think it's been watered since before Christmas.... it's kinda super droopy! the ornaments are pulling the branches down and it just looks really sad. We said we would do it today but it never happened. Maybe when he gets home to night we will put it away, we'll see how tired he is! The tree doesn't look this happy anymore, that's for sure!

Well, Darin's birthday is on Tuesday... Ahhhh! I don't have any money or a present for him... but I'll make him dinner and cake. Later when I have money I can shower him with presents, he he he. Oh, and 100 more days until the wedding! I need to get my ring from my mom(must do tonight!), I need to get it sized, I need to pick out some flowers for me to hold, and I need to alter my dress... I think I'm going to wear some crazy colorful shoes with it because I don't want some boring white ones, colorful ones are more fun anyway! Darin needs to get a suit sometime soon... and then I think all we really need to do is start cooking and baking.. but we'll save that until we are much closer to the date! No one wants 4 month old food! eww! he he! Oh yeah, I don't think my friend was very impressed by me wanting to wear colorful shoes with my wedding dress.... but no one will see them unless I pick up my dress and I like the idea of different shoes! Ah well, I'm not trying to please her with my shoes! hmmmm I'm just worried that we won't have anyone to photograph the wedding, I don't need the whole professional wedding crap that everyone gets, I think if all else fail I'm going to Costco and buying a ton of disposable cameras and handing them out to everyone. I think that might be really cool! And of course we will get them online for everyone else to see them! I dunno, sometimes I really stress myself out too much about all of this.. and why? I haven't a clue! Well, in 100 days it will all be over and I won't have to stress about it ever again!

okay, so yesterday I was working on Pat's house.. she's my landlady/next door neighbor/friend... and she asked me if I had heard of Katie Melua before, I told her no. So she had me listen to the cd and I haven't turned it off since then! It kinda reminds me of Norah Jones. I really like this cd a lot, it's not something I usually listen to and it really relaxes me, not like I really need that today!

What a trip

soooo today my best friend told me some great news that she signed a lease for this great apartment in downtown burlington, great right? yeah, it's on north Champlain street... okay no big deal, I don't think anything about it. A little later Darin and I are in burlington and we were going to the mall and I was trying to figure out just where her apartment is off the top of my head. So I'm all "well that over there is south Champlain street because that's where douche bag the ex-boyfriend lived.... she must live over that way.. hmmm" So Darin parks the car and we start walking towards the entrance of the mall and who do I see walking towards the same entrance???? Douche bag! I hid behind Darin and I pulled my hoodie up over my face so he couldn't see me. Luckly he didn't. So I'm freaking out and we wait a bit before going into the mall... we walk in just in time to see him and his gf go into A&F... I start laughing really hard because I know he hates that place and all it stands for. After we left the mall a few minutes later I was still feeling like I was going to throw up... it's not cool how one person can have such a negative effect on me. I hadn't seen him since the day I left for California.

I'm so glad Darin is understanding and he was with me today, otherwise I might have thrown up and left before ever going into the mall.

oh yeah.... my friend now lives on the same road that douche bag used to live on.... eww. what a frickin trip today has been.

new scarf!

So Darin has been a good boy so I am knitting him a new scarf! It's the most intricate, ridiculous thing I have ever knit in my entire life. When you look at the pattern in the book there are little boxes (the boxes are two different colors so you know what color to knit with) that tell you what you are supposed to knit... and each box equals two stitches in this pattern, and each box color means a different thing depending on which row you are on.... oh boy! The directions in the book were not very helpful with getting me started and figuring out how the heck I was supposed to knit this... soooo I went on youtube and I looked up double knitting and watched some lady's video about how to knit like this. Thank god for youtube! Otherwise I'd still be swearing at the book and knitting.... I don't think Darin could stand anymore of that! ha ha ha ha!

Daddy

In about 6.5 hours my dad leaves on a plane for Atlanta... he's going to be taking a blacksmithing class!! The week before Thanksgiving my Dad took his first blacksmithing class and he loved it, he got to make all the tools he needed to make things once he got home from the class. Then he started looking up plans to make a gas forge and he searched out all the parts that he needed to make one. Then comes the fun part!!! We got to spend a few days up the road at a wonderful family friend's (Bob the welder!) house. He is a professional welder and he is one of the coolest people I have ever known. If you are at the wedding you will surely meet him. He helped me and my dad build the forge, he was just as excited as my dad was. After a few days we got it all built and it works! My dad has fired it up once(?) maybe more... But now he is on his way tot take another class. I want him to teach me when he gets home. I think it'd be really cool. It's something that I have never tried and I never even thought that I might like it until my dad took the class. Now I'm thinking how much fun it would be to shape something out of metal! 

On another note... if you have seen Arrested Development you will know what I'm talking about. I feel like I need to carry around a tape recorder like Tobais in the fact that I should be carrying around a tape recorder with me so I don't forget all the funny things that Darin and I say.. Oh it's super fun!

So I had said yesterday(?) that I have been playing a ton of Animal crossing for the Wii and that I had put a Sd card into the Wii so I could take photos on there... and here they are!!

Well, it is the new year and I hope if you are going to make a resolution you have made one!! Me? well, I'm going to try my best to make sure that this is the best year ever for me and Darin, well, so far. As I'm sure some of you know 2008 was a rough year for us and we almost didn't make it :(  BUT! We have put all of that behind us and we are ready for whatever 2009 brings!!! Like our wedding in 106 days!!! Invites went out in the mail yesterday... hopefully our lovely friends can make it! I miss you all and if you are still in California at the end of April we will see you even if you can't make it to the wedding! Oh, I'm so excited!!! I feel like I'm going home, weird I know. But i really miss it and I miss all of you!! Maybe one day Darin and I will find ourselves living back out there..... Vermont is lovely and all but there aren't any jobs here. Also it's the whitest state.. I miss living in a place that is diverse, and I miss the beach!! And the shopping, okay, let's be honest... I REALLY miss the shopping!! ha ha ha! I think if we were to do it again we'd have to live in a bit less populated area as I am a country girl and I hate living on top of a billion other people. At one point we had found a cabin for rent out by Lake Cachuma and I really wish we had moved out there, it was a cheeper place to live and it was a ton more secluded, maybe we'd still be out there now had we lived there!! I dunno. 

Anyhoo, I have been super duper lame and I put a SD card into the Wii so I can take pictures while playing Animal Crossing so expect to see some of those photos soon! he he he!!
